The institute hospital is equipped with facilities to take care of the general health problems faced by more than 13,000 students, faculty, staff and their families.
Apart from the medical officers for general medicine, paediatrics and gynaecology, visiting
specialists are available for general surgery, E.N.T, ophthalmology and psychiatry. The inpatient service can cater to 35 patients at a given time. Duty doctors and supporting staff are
available on call as part of the 24 hour emergency service.

IIT Madras invites applications for the following posts on contract basis in the Institute Hospital initially for a period of one year which may be renewed on good performance.
1. Junior Medical Officer
Qualification:
Passed MBBS of a University recognized by the Indian Medical Council and must have
successfully completed the Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (CRRI).
Experience:
At least 2 years clinical experience in a recognized hospital. Casuality exposure will be an
added advantage.
Salary : Rs.30000/( Rupees thirty thousand only) consolidated per month.
2. Nurses
Qualification:
Passed in HSC (10+2) / Intermediate or equivalent with 3 year Diploma Course in Nursing and
Midwifery or B.Sc. in Nursing and registered with Nursing Council with experience in recognized
hospitals.
Salary : Rs.7000/( Rupees seven thousand only) per month.
