The Institute needs to develop web enabled applications under automation cell in different sections/departments. Those include creation and maintenance of Database of students and employees, students’ registration and grade computation, Finance, Hostel, Estate, guest house etc. the computer software shall use SQL for data base and ASP and/or Visual Basic for the front end. To carry out this development, the institute is seeking software professionals or contract basis.
For the purpose, applications are invited from qualified and experienced individuals. The tenure of appointment is initially one year, and will be extended on year to year basis depending upon the requirements and performance of the candidate. The maximum tenure shall be 3 years. This appointment is not linked to any permanent position. If and when permanent position is advertised, the candidate shall be permitted to apply: with no positive or negative discrimination under the law. Service of Non performing candidates may be terminated any time on one month’s notice.
1. Software Consultant (one person)
(a) Job requirements: The person has to understand the web enabled applications, database design, forms design, implementation, testing and deployment in intranet/Internet. He will have to work in a team developing application software for concept to completion. The candidate has to lead a team of about 5 persons of diverse qualifications and experience.
(b) Qualification: Essential: Degree in MCA, B.Tech. (CSE/IT) with good knowledge in SQL Server 2000/2005, ASP, ASP.Net, Java etc. Other qualifications will be considered in case of candidate with highly relevant experience.
Minimum: Five years experience in software development under the aforesaid platforms.
Desirable:
(a) Experience as Team Leader in software development under relevant platforms.
(b) Familiarity academic and administrative systems of institutions of higher learning.
(c) Compensation: Between Rs. 20000 – Rs.30000 per month depending upon qualification, length and quality of experience and performance in tests. In addition, the institute will consider lump sum honorarium if the products developed lead to substantial economy for the Institute. They will be provided family accommodation as per need.
2. Method of Selection: Candidate will be short listed on the basis of resume and other data submitted by the candidates. Short listed candidate will be called for a 2 day practice test cum interview (longer if felt necessary) before the institute decides on the candidate to be accepted.
