ICRISAT seeks applicationsfor a Soil Scientist for its Global Theme Agroecosystem.This is a regional position to be based at ICRISAT Headquarters, Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India.

ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics.

Responsibility: Candidate will be responsible for developing and evaluating integrated nutrient management options for sustainable management of natural resources and improving livelihoods along with other team members.

Requirement: PhD. in Soil Science with 3-5 years of post doctoral experience in relevant field and good computer skills are essential. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. The candidate should have aptitude to work as a member of interdisciplinary teams in multicultural and multinational environment, the ability to develop and manage projects and generate funds, and the ability to interact with partner organizations.

Reward: This is a regionally recruited position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The position is for an initial three year period, and may be extended depending on requirement, funding availability and performance of the incumbent.
