Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), a residential –technical university located in the foothills of the Pir-Panjal in Rajouri (J&K) was established by Act No. XVI of 2002 of the State Legislature.

2 Associate Professor - 18 Posts
3 Assistant Professor - 26 Posts


Qualifications and experience:
a. Professor- Information Technology/ Arabic / Management Studies/ Applied Mathematics/ Life Sciences
i. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in relevant subject and published work of high
quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10
publications as books and/or research / policy papers in indexed / ISBN/ISSN numbered
journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.
ii. A minimum of 12 years of teaching experience in university/college , and/or experience in
research at the University/National Level institutions, including experience of guiding
candidates for research at doctoral level.
iii. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology –
medicated teaching learning process.
iv. A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system
developed by UGC.
In addition to the above,
 The applicants for the post of Professor are required to submit four copies of three major
publications out of which one should be book or research report along with other documents.
 The applicants for the post of Professor in School of Biosciences & Biotechnology should
have Masters degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7-point scale
in Geography, Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology, Life Sciences, Geology, Chemistry, Hydrology with research experience in Biotechnology, Climatology, Glaciology, Life Sciences or Water Technology as evidenced by quality of publications in these areas.
b. Professor - Electronics & Communication Engineering / Computer Sciences & Engineering /
Information Technology Engineering / Electrical & Renewable Energy Engineering/ Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Energy Management
i. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in relevant subject and first class degree at
Bachelor’s or Masters’ level in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology (B. Tech /
B.E or M. Tech / M.E.) and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with
evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research /
policy papers in indexed / ISBN/ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.
ii. A minimum of 12 years of teaching experience in university/college , and/or experience in
research/ industry at the University/National Level institutions, including experience of
guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
iii. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology –
medicated teaching learning process.
iv. A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system
developed by UGC.

c. Associate Professor- Applied Mathematics / Information Technology/ Management Studies/ Physical Education
i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned or allied discipline.
ii. 55% of the marks, or equivalent grade wherever grading system is followed at the Master’s
degree level.
iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or of research in a regular position
equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University / College or Accredited Research
Institution with evidence of published work with a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or
research/policy papers in indexed/ISBN/ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.
iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology –
medicated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and
research students.
v. A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system
developed by UGC.
In addition to the above,
 The applicants for the post of Associate Professor are required to submit four copies of three
major publications out of which one should be book or research report along with other
documents.
d. Associate Professor - Electronics & Communication Engineering / Computer Sciences & Engineering / Information Technology Engineering / Electrical & Renewable Energy Engineering/ Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Energy Management
i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned or allied disciplines and first class
degree at Bachelor’s or Masters’ level in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology
(B. Tech / B.E or M. Tech / M.E.) .
ii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or of research in a regular position

e. Assistant Professor – Applied Mathematics / English/ Physical Education / Remote Sensing & GIS
i. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade where grading
system is practiced at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian
University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
iii. Those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D. degree though a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down by UGC shall be exempted from NET.
In addition to the above,
 The applicants for the post of Assistant Professor –Remote Sensing & GIS should have
qualified Masters Degree in GIS or Remote Sensing or Geography and should have
experience of preparing contour maps.
f. Assistant Professor – Physics / Chemistry
i. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade where grading
system is practiced at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian
University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
iii. Those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D. degree though a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down by UGC shall be exempted from NET. Holders of M.Phil degree who do not possess NET shall also be considered.
g. Assistant Professor - Electrical & Renewable Energy Engineering/ Civil Engineering
i. First Class Master's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) / Technology
(Tech.) i.e. M.Tech or M.E. in Electrical Engineering or Energy Management / Civil
Engineering OR First Class Bachelor's degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology or equivalent i.e. B.Tech or B.E. in Electrical Engineering or Energy Management / Civil Engineering
(If selected, candidate shall be required to qualify GATE with minimum 75 percentile score
and shall be required to complete M.Tech / ME within 5 years failing which the increments
will be stopped until the postgraduate degree is earned. )
h. Assistant Professor – Computer Sciences
i. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade where grading
system is practiced at the Master’s degree level or equivalent in the relevant subject from an
Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university or recognized
institution.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
iii. Those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D. degree though a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down by UGC shall be exempted from NET.
OR
i. First Class Master's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) / Technology
(Tech.) i.e. M.Tech or M.E. in Computer Sciences
OR
First Class Bachelor's degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology or
equivalent i.e. B.Tech or B.E. in Computer Sciences
(If selected, candidate shall be required to qualify GATE with minimum 75 percentile score
and shall be required to complete M.Tech / ME within 5 years failing which the increments
will be stopped until the postgraduate degree is earned. )
i. Curator
i. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade where grading
system is practiced at the Master’s degree level in Botany , Zoology , Biosciences / Life
Sciences from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign
university.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
iii. Those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D. degree though a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down by UGC shall be exempted from NET.
