Application are invited upto 22/09/2009 for the post of

Scientist - C in the pay scale of PB - 3 Rs 15600-39100 + GP 6600/- plus other allowances and other service benefits as per Central Govt. rules. (NPA Admissible for Medical Scientists).

1. Scientist ‘C’ (Immunology) (UnReserved).

Essential : (i) M.B.B.S Degree /1stClass M. Sc. in Immunology/Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry and allied subjects Or 2nd Class M. Sc. with Ph. D. in the above subjects. (ii) Four years research experience in the relevant areas.

Desirable : (i) Doctorate Degree or MD in the related subject.
(ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subjects
(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Job. Requirement : The incumbent will join the team of laboratory scientists involved in research on HIV/AIDS, Vaccines, immunopathogenesis of infection, HIV-TB interactions and role of DCs in HIV infections are the key research areas. The detailed description of the various projects undertaken by NARI can be found on the website (http://www.nari-icmr.res.in/) The person with original thinking and aptitude for independent research will be preferred.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 40 years (Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants). Age relaxable by 3 years for Other Backward Class Candidates and 5 years for SC/ST, as per Central Government rules.

Application forms duly completed in all respects along with all copies of Certificates including copy of Caste Certificate OBC/SC/ST may be sent to the above mentioned address on or before the last date alongwith a crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) payable to the Director, National AIDS Research Institute, Pune. (SC/ST and Physically handicapped and Council’s employees are exempted from this payment). Incomplete/late applications or those without postal orders/DD and copies of certificates including copy of Caste Certificate OBC/SC/ST will not be entertained. ANY CANVASSING BY OR ON BEHALF OF THE CANDIDATE OR TO BRING POLITICAL OR OTHER OUTSIDE INFLUENCE WITH REGARD TO SELECTION / RECRUITMENT SHALL BE A DISQUALIFICATION.

Note:- Ph.D or MD degree in subjects relevant to ICMR shall be treated equivalent to three years experience. Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview / personal discussion, the applicants will be short-listed for this purpose. These posts are with All India Transfer Liability under the Council. Candidates called for personal discussion for the Scientist ‘C’ post, 2nd class return rail fare by shortest route will be provided on production of documents. The decision of the Director General, ICMR will be final in this regard.
