The National Chemical Laboratory is a premier research Institution under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi, conducting research, development and consultancy services in Chemical and related Sciences. The current budget of NCL is about Rs. 100 crores, which is expected to double in the next five years. In order to meet the increasing demands of research in both basic and applied sciences.

NCL invites applications from Indian Nationals for placement in the following scientific positions.

Scientist in Group IV(2) - 4 Posts
Pay Band –3 (Rs.15600-39100 ) with Grade Pay Rs.6600.

The post-wise details are as under:

(1) CODE NO. 01: PHYSICAL & MATERIALS CHEMISTRY DIVISION
Qualifications: Ph. D. in Chemistry or Physics with atleast 1 year research experience from a reputed institute.
Experience: The candidate should have research experience in the area of polymorphism, solid state structural and materials chemistry of micro-porous and meso-porous materials. Experience of handling the single crystal and power X-ray diffraction instruments and structural solution and refinement from both single crystal and powder data is desirable.
Job Requirements: The selected candidate will work in an interdisciplinary team at the interface of material science and catalysis.

(2) CODE NO. 02 : PHYSICAL & MATERIALS CHEMISTRY DIVISION
Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemistry or Physics with atleast 1 year research experience from a reputed institute.
Experience: The candidate should have research experience in general area of theoretical chemistry, with special emphasis on atomistic, coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulation.
Job Requirements: The selected candidate will work broadly in theoretical chemistry group and should be able to work on mesoscale simulation and apply to problems of interest.

(3)CODE NO. 03: CHEMICAL ENGINEERING AND PROCESS DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
Qualification & Experience: Ph.D. in the field of Biotechnology/Biological Sciences/Natural Sciences from a reputed University/institution with atleast 1 year research experience from a reputed institute.
Desirable: The candidate should have research experience in the areas such as molecular biology, fermentation Technology and macromolecular crystallography as evidenced by publications in international peer reviewed journals. Experience in high cell density fermentation for production of recombinant proteins up to pilot scale would be preferred.
Job Requirements: The selected candidate will be expected to carry out independent research in the area of cloning, expression, purification, characterization of recombinant microbial proteins. The candidate would also be expected to perform structural characterization of proteins.

(4) CODE NO. 04: NCL INNOVATION RESOURCE CENTER
Qualification & Experience: Ph.D. in Chemical/Polymer/ Materials Science with 1 year experience OR Ph.D. (Engineering) OR First Class Post-graduate degree in Business Management with atleast 3 years research experience from a reputed institute.
Desirable: The candidate should hold masters degree in business management with a polymers/ materials science background. Business Management specialization in either finance or technology management is preferred. Exposure and experience with market/ industry analysis, valuation and portfolio management is desirable. Exposure to and experience with product development cycles and process of technology commercialization is also desirable. Candidate must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills and computer literacy.
Job Requirements: The selected candidate will study early stage invention disclosures for potential impact and value creation and shepherd it through a protection , validation and commercialization process/ phases, actively undertake technology assessment, valuation and marketing, help set-up new systems and mechanisms for new venture and PPP creation in technology innovation, help identify suitable early stage ideas for new venture creation and work with partners to take it through a venturing process and contribute to various other programs of NCL Innovations relating to technology and innovation management and commercialization.
